They are trained to excavate, replace the damaged sewer, and restore to as near pre-work conditions as possible, with the least amount of fuss and inconvenience.
Patch itThere may be situations when excavation isn’t necessary, but neither is the installation of a full liner. With Dial a Contractor, there is another way to repair your sewer, drain or pipe — patch it. CCTV cameras are placed inside the drain to locate the problem. In the majority of cases, the cause of such problems arise when the roots of trees grow into the joints of the existing piping. In order to repair the issue, Dial a Contractor will reconstruct the connection/junction to prevent the roots from re-entering the sewer line and offers a permanent solution to the problem.

Unless you replace plumbing, the system will eventually begin to leak and possibly flood your home with water or raw sewerage, causing major damage to your home and belongings.

Here’s how to assess your plumbing system and know when it’s time for replacement
There are two other types of water supply pipe that should be removed immediately no matter how old they are:
- Lead pipes, used in the early 1900s, have a life expectancy of 100 years, but they can leach lead into your drinking water, a serious health hazard.
- Polybutylene pipes, used from the 1970s through the 1990s, are extremely prone to breakage.
Watch for signs of trouble:
If your house is more than 20 years old, make it an annual ritual to inspect any exposed pipe, in ceilings, crawl spaces, and stand pipes—for tell-tale signs of trouble. Check the tubing for discoloration, stains, dimpling, pimples, or flaking, which are all signs of corrosion. If you find irregularities, contact a plumber to do an inspection.
Keep an eye out for leaks too, of course. Even small ones that are easily repaired may be indicators that the time for whole-house replacement is approaching. After all, the original pipes in your home are the same vintage, they’re made of the same material, and they’ve been subjected to the same water supply and usage patterns.
Dial a Contractor recommends that all copper pipes be replaced if you have had ongoing leaks or pitting. This is like a “cancer”, it won’t go away! It will certainly get worse! Many homes close to the coast, are fitted with class 0 copper piping, which often begins to leak or corrode within 5 years of being installed.
Also, when filling your bathtub, look at the colour of your water, especially after a being away when it has been sitting in the pipes for a while. If the water looks brown or yellow, what you’re seeing is rust, which is an indication of decay inside the pipes or geyser. Consider replacement soon.
Best opportunities to replace pipes:
Ultimately, you’ll need to rely on a trusted plumber to advise you whether it’s time for a pipe replacement. And it’s always good to get a second and even third opinion before you embark on a replacement project. However there are means to lessen the cost and hassle of the job.
Replace what’s exposed. For a home with plaster walls, wood panelling, or other features that make it difficult to gain access to in-wall pipes, consider at least replacing pipes that aren’t buried in the walls. Although it’s a big job, replacing exposed pipes in ceilings, crawl spaces, or attics is fairly straightforward, because the plumber can easily get at the pipes.Depending on the configuration of your house, we may be able to access the vast majority of your system without causing too much damage to walls and tiles.
We try to not damage tiles as it is not easy to replace old tiles unless the client has spare, therefore we access the re-tube through cupboards, cavity walls and only chop open where needed.
Replace when you renovate:
Whenever you remodel a portion of your house, take the opportunity to inspect and if need be, replace any plumbing lines that you expose when you open up the walls and floors, as well as any copper piping. This includes not only the plumbing in the kitchen or bathroom that you’re remaking, but also any pipes passing through the walls to feed upstairs bathrooms.
Watch for plumbing trouble:
- Have your pipes inspected by a licensed plumber.
- Do your own checks annually for signs of corrosion, flaking, or leaks.
- If your water is brown, have a Dial a Contractor plumber evaluate your pipes.
